Technical Inspector/Fitter - Cleethorpes Stabling Point


Maintenance, preparation and repair of 4 x British Rail Engineering Built Class 158 Diesel Multiple Units stabled overnight at Cleethorpes. Work involved end of day checks, topping up of fluids, air-con tests, cab checks, door tests, repairing, inspecting, reporting, obtaining brake release and powering up engines to test and prepare units for Unit Diagram working. This involved close liaison with the Siemens/TransPennine Maintenance Control and Operations/Fleet Control in Manchester to help diagnose and solve problems found overnight.  Other duties were to over-see the contract cleaning operatives and checks of work standards, keeping them safe wihtin the Rule Book. This role required qualification to 'Designated Person' standard and PTS/Medical to Network Rail standard
